Strengthen your Critical Thinking
Published on: July 25, 2026
Human brains have long evolved to override primal brain. We went from the ancient survival system to the modern thinking cortex. As human society grew more complex, human brain changed to structured questioning during the classical era to systematizing truth during the scientific and industrial eras.
In the digital era and as we enter the AI revolution, we find ourselves outsourcing intellect.
How do humans think critically? Our brains actively analyze, question, and evaluate information rather than accepting it at face value. It requires us to look past our initial emotional reactions and cognitive biases to find objective truth.

In this fast pace digital age, how can we train our brain to think critically and not lose that muscle.
Some simple tricks:
Whenever you read an article, scroll through social media or get an answer in your AI chat:
Ask who benefits: Find the source. Identify the underlying motive of the person or organization sharing the information.
Identify what maybe missing: Look for hidden context, omitted data, or counter arguments left out of the narrative.
Look for evidence: Try to tease out what is mere anecdotes or emotional claims vs the real evidence. Is the text or video trying to trigger an emotional reaction?
Try this: Use a 10-30 second buffer to allow the primal survival brain reaction to pass before liking, sharing, commenting. The longer you wait, the more your brain will use its logical reasoning muscle.
